Church Planting Connection

I’m driving back from Phoenix with Pastor Daniel Nuñez and Julio. We spent the day connecting with church planters. After talking about church planting, encouraging and praying for one another, which is so important we spent some time just having some fun at a Spring training baseball game.

It’s refreshing to connect with like-minded men and women. Often I’m able to get some great ideas as I share about some of the church planting projects I’m working on.

One of the biggest projects I’m working on right now is for Ensenada with Petri and Yudy Petrikowski. This Saturday I’m leading a medical outreach with Redeemer San Diego and our friends in Ensenada.

I’m excited about the medical clinic. We’ve found it to be one most effective ways to show people in the community the love of Christ. The doctors and staff are very loving as they treat the people. We also have a great opportunity to pray for each person and minister to their spiritual needs.

This particular time the outreach has been challenging. The enemy has opposed us as we began to take medical supplies to Ensenada.

Petri was stopped at the border! He had, and we had what I refer to as a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

We Need Your Prayers!

This experience serves as a reminder that we are in a battle, and the weapons of our Warfare  are spiritual. We need your prayers friends! Keep up the good work of holding up our hands in prayer as we seek to march forward.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

We are weak left to our own devices, but strong in Christ! We have divine power. We are not defenseless, and we can destroy strongholds! Hallelujah!

Medical Missions in TJ

The doctors and helpers at work caring for the people

On Saturday I helped with a medical missions clinic in Tijuana. I played a small part, because I do not have any medical training.

It was thrilling to be a part of this medical outreach. A number of doctors, dentists and nurses from a church in Orange County joined in on this outreach.

What a fascinating experience to watch the doctors and dentists treating all the people who came to have their medical needs addressed. Some that came from Orange County also led the children through some fun activities.

Present & Future Medical Outreaches

I brought a dentist from one of the San Diego churches, Redeemer. Sarah Oh, who is a young dentist participated on this project with many others. Sarah loves the Lord, and she loves to use the gifts that God has given her to serve others.

One of the main reasons that I took Sarah to work on this medical outreach is that her church, Redeemer San Diego would like to organize a similar ministry outreach in the future. There are some great needs and wonderful opportunities to show the love of Christ as we treat people’s physical needs.

I love being able to help even in small ways with projects like these. I enjoy seeing the Americans that come down show the love of Jesus to our neighbors in TJ. I think both groups benefited. The doctors and the patients were radiant, maybe the doctors more-so, since they are healthier. Yet, the patients were glad to see someone who could help them with their physical ailments.

May Jesus be praised as he brings healing to the people in El Niño!

The Gospel is Making a Difference in Tijuana

I give thanks for the leaders the Lord has given me to work with on both sides of the border. Last week I was able to meet with a number of them. Such choice servants of the Lord!

We visited the two churches that Harbor helped plant among some of the other churches. Cesar one of the younger pastors has just taken over a church that has gone through a lot of turmoil. The church had shrunk and was down to about three families.

Since Cesar took the church over just in the last month they’ve had 100 people attend the church.

The Lord Hears the Prayer of His People

I asked Cesar what they were doing to reach the people. He said the main thing they were doing was praying. God is hearing their plea.

These ministries are loving on the people in the community. Many of them are feeding the poor. Periodically they set up a medical clinic to help those that can’t afford to go to a doctor. It’s so good to see the Lord at work.

God is working through these churches as they share the love of Christ in their community. Our prayer is that they will continue to grow and to be a blessing in Tijuana.

Praise and Prayer

I praise the Lord for his faithfulness to these churches, and those who serve in them. They are blessing their communities in some practical ways. One of the questions we are asking is how can we come alongside of them, and be of encouragement to them.

Join in prayer as we ask the Lord to open the hearts of the people as the gospel goes out into the communities surrounding the church.
