Dave at Timonium Presbyterian Church
Dave at Timonium Presbyterian Church

Yesterday I was with some old and new friends at Timonium Presbyterian Church. I first met this church when they brought a short-term missions group down in 1992. Don Wright was one of the church members who went on that trip. It was so good to see Don and Shirley Wright as well as other friends that we’ve known for years.
It’s a reminder that we don’t do this ministry alone. Many friends stand with us in prayer. The Lord uses them to encourage us. Friends and churches partner with us giving to our ministry. We’ve been in faith missions, raising our financial support for our work for over 20 years. Wow! What an encouragement to see God’s faithfulness!

Dr. Ben Taylor is one of the pastors at Timonium. I first met Ben in the summer of 1986. I had just returned from a missions trip to Mexico City to find some stranger camping out in my room in the house we were renting. Ben says, I was trying to figure him out. We became fast friends though, and enjoyed serving together that summer under the tutelage of Dr. William (Bill) Iverson.
Bill is the grandfather of Evangelism Explosion. He’s the most gifted and boldest person evangelist I’ve ever met. He was dangerous to be around, because he was an expert in finding a new, challenging and sometimes awkward ministry opportunity for us young seminarians.
I’m grateful for such wonderful friends, and churches like Timonium that partner with us in ministry. The encouragement, the prayer and financial support are all essential to what we do.
It’s one of the reasons that we are so close to moving to the San Diego – Tijuana border. The closing on our house is August 17th. We are praying for smooth sailing through closing. Please join us in prayer for that. We have a problem with our porch, but the Lord directed us to someone who can help us. Thank you, Jesus!
We just need nine people at $100 a month to be fully funded, so we can focus on our ministry on the border. Your gift could put us over the top. If you are able to partner with us in this way, send me a note. You can also give online via the support/giving page on this website. If you aren’t able to give at this time, pray that the Lord who is faithful will provide for all our needs.
Pray with us that the Lord will bring everything together. The closing of our house, our family needs and our support. It’s an exciting albeit somewhat stressful time!

Praise the Lord about the porch! 🙂 Keep praying for your finances, so forth. God’s blessing on you both.
