Equipping Believers to Share Their Faith in Durango
Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the privilege of working with Pastor Noé Reyes, along with other pastors and leaders in Durango, Mexico. Noé also invited a pastor from Chiapas and another from Guadalajara to join us for an evangelism training workshop.
It has been incredibly encouraging to see how those participating are growing—not only in knowledge, but in boldness to share their faith.
Growing in Faith and Action
One of the participants, Margarita, shared how impactful the training has been for her. She spoke about the deep connections the group is experiencing, led by the Holy Spirit, and how the class is strengthening their faith.
Each week, participants are encouraged to go out and put into practice what they’ve learned—and the testimonies coming back have been powerful.
A Life Touched Through Prayer
One story that stood out came from Isabel.
While out sharing her faith, she encountered a young man who was clearly in distress. He was agitated, even striking a pole, and appeared weak—on the verge of collapsing. Concerned, Isabel approached him and asked if he was okay.
He explained that he was in pain, suffering from sores in his mouth.
Isabel gently asked if she could pray for him—and he said yes.
After she prayed, something changed. He began to calm down. The pain eased. His demeanor softened.
She then invited him to attend a Christian conference, and as a simple act of compassion, she bought him medicine to help relieve his pain.
He responded with gratitude, saying he felt much better—and expressed his desire to attend the conference.
This is just one of many testimonies of how God is working through ordinary believers who are stepping out in faith.
New Doors Opening
Pastor Noé also shared that they are launching a new outreach focused on ministering to mothers, and already 10–20 women are participating.
God continues to open doors as the church actively shares the Gospel in their community.
Over the past five years, the church in Durango has grown from 20 to 90 people, and just last August, they launched a new church plant.
It’s been a joy to witness their enthusiasm and commitment to sharing the love of Christ.
