‘Tis the Season!

Jesus Brings Us Joy!

Nativity_tree2011“‘Tis the season to be jolly,” as the Welsh and English Christmas melody goes. I concur with the sentiment of joy during this time of year. Yes, there are some negative elements, but I love that many focus on the first advent of Christ. I enjoy the extra time with my family, and gathering for celebrations with close friends.
It is a special time of the year!
When I reflect on the festivities of the last few days. The times to feast, and give thanks for all the Lord has done. The opportunities to celebrate with the ones we love. I wish we would celebrate what God is doing and has done more often. Wouldn’t it be great to give thanks to our colleagues, friends, partners in ministry on a regular basis.
O Lord, that it will be so.

Joy to the World

“Joy to the world, the Lord is come!

Let earth receive her King;

Let every heart prepare Him room,

And Heaven and nature sing,

And Heaven and nature sing,

And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

(The words and lyrics of the old Christmas carol ‘Joy to the Word’ were written in 1719 by Isaac Watts, 1674-1748.)

Jesus Paid it All

Friends I hope that you will take advantage of the season, and experience the joy of the Savior with your family and your friends. Even if you find yourself in a difficult situation, remember Christ paid the price for your sins. All your debts have been paid on the cross.

“And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:13-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬
