One of the great benefits we have as we share with friends about our ministry on the border is we get to meet a lot of people. We meet people in various places. Last week I had the opportunity to speak to a men’s group that meets on Tuesday morning. I began at 6:15 AM, which is a little bit of a challenge to be up, alert, and ready to present that early. After I spoke to the men they prayed for me. I always consider it a privilege when friends pray for me, and our work.
Then this last Sunday, I was able to speak at Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church. Pastor Jim Alexander prayed for me and my family after I spoke. We met some new people there, and we saw some old friends. Dawn, David and Jonathan (Hannah was at our church’s youth retreat) were able to join me. I always enjoy it when my family can be with me. It makes it much easier for me. Dawn is so good at meeting people, and they love her. She definitely adds a lot to the package! I wish she could join me more often.
I have a number of trips coming up to meet with friends, and to connect with churches. This Friday I leave for Phoenix for Covenant Community Church’s missions conference. Then I’m back for about 10 days before I go out to California from March 12 – 28. It’s always a challenge trying to get everything set up ahead of time. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to get in touch with people. I suppose in part people are just busy. I do need prayer for God’s blessing and wisdom as I set up my trips, and try to arrange for appointments. Without God’s blessing I’m sure to fail. We depend on the Lord to lead us to the right people at the right time. I have been very encouraged by how the Lord has led, and provided through the trips I have taken so far this year. We are making good progress towards are goal of getting to Chula Vista!
We are privileged to have so many friends who pray for us. Thanks for standing with us!
In His Grip, Dave
