Hannah’s Toys of Hope Reaches Children Battling Cancer in Cuba

Sometimes God expands a ministry in ways we could never have planned.
A few weeks ago, I received a message from Rachel, the wife of one of our church planters in Cuba. Her words immediately touched my heart.
She told me that God had placed a burden on her to visit children battling cancer in a local hospital. She asked if Hannah’s Toys of Hope would partner with them by providing toys, medicine, and other supplies to bring comfort, hope, and the love of Christ to these precious children and their families.
As I listened to her story, I realized this wasn’t simply a new outreach.
It was another beautiful chapter in the legacy God continues to write through Hannah’s Toys of Hope.
A Mother’s Heart Born from Personal Healing
Pastor Jorge and Rachel are two of our dedicated church planters in Cuba. Though they haven’t been able to have children of their own, Rachel feels the Lord is granting her a special opportunity to love and care for these sick children with a mother’s heart.
Her compassion is deeply personal.
Some time ago, Rachel herself spent time in the hospital battling serious health challenges. The Lord graciously brought healing to her life, and now she desires to comfort and encourage others who are walking through similar trials. As Scripture reminds us, God often comforts us so that we can comfort others with the same comfort we have received from Him (2 Corinthians 1:3–4).
Because of your faithful generosity, we were able to send additional support in July to help Jorge and Rachel purchase toys, medicine, and essential supplies through Hannah’s Toys of Hope.
While it breaks our hearts to see children facing cancer, we are thankful for the opportunity to share the love and compassion of Jesus in the midst of their suffering. Sometimes a simple toy, a needed medicine, a prayer, or a caring conversation becomes a powerful reminder that God has not forgotten them.
