David Jr., Dawn and I spent the day at Covenant College. We wanted to connect with students and professors to make them aware of opportunities on the border.
God’s Rich Blessings!
We met some outstanding students, and a good number of them showed interest in going on a journey with Jesus in mission. We were encouraged by our visit. Thank you Jesus!
Personally, I find that it energizes me to be with college students. They are willing to try new things, to take risks and they want to make a difference. These students give me hope, that God has something special in store for them and for us in the future.
I loved the opportunity to connect with the professors as well. They expressed a great deal of enthusiasm about what we are doing. One of them told me he was glad that we were continuing to minister on the border, because he wasn’t sure if Mission to the World was continuing to work there. I left feeling very pumped up and encouraged!
While at the school we made plans for a return visit in the fall. When we return I will have the opportunity to teach in a couple of the classes on campus!
Friends on the Campus
An added bonus for all of us was seeing some of our friends that attend Covenant. Most of them were family friends that we first met in Colorado Springs, but we also saw students we knew from Pennsylvania and California. It’s so good to see them growing up, and maturing.
One of our special friends is Susanna Griffith. We know her and her family from Colorado. We were able to enjoy a couple of meals, and some good southern barbecue with her. Susanna will be graduating in May. She is the student body president, and has been a real leader and a positive influence on the campus.
Lord, thank you for going before us, and giving us a good day. I have great hopes that from among these students you are going to raise up some godly leaders, and that some of them will join us on the border!
In His Grip, Dave

I understand that. My husband has worked in college management for years. We have enjoyed their presence in our home. Our daughter is about to graduate with a Technical Writing degree….college age is a once in a lifetime.
