Reconnecting With Old Friends
This past summer I reconnected with some of my friends seminary, because my former roommate and good friend Ty Schenzel along with his wife, Terri were involved in a fatal car crash. So sad to see them go! You can read more about it on one of my earlier posts here…
Dieter Zander’s Story
One of the seminary friends I reconnected with was Dieter Zander. Dieter was one of most gifted public speakers and worship leaders I’ve ever met. He planted a successful church in Southern California, which he started while he was in seminary. Then he went one to be one of the pastors at Willow Creek Church in the Chicago area.
Dieter was in demand as a speaker, and he had written some books.
Then boom, lightning, one night he had a stroke, which left him partially paralyzed and affected his speech.
Since that night, God has done a profound work in Dieter’s life through these difficult and even tragic circumstances. Just a couple of weeks ago on January 10th he shared his story at Oasis Community Church in Phoenix.
I wanted to post it, because I believe that you will find it inspirational and a source of great encouragement. Let me know what you think of Dieter’s story after you watch it. I’m including the link here in case you prefer to watch it that way: Lighthing, Thunder, and Living Water.

I’d love to hear how Dieter’s story touched you! Also, I’d appreciate your prayers for Dieter as he ministers at Trader Joe’s and as the Lord opens up more opportunities for him to share his story.
In His Grip, Dave
