Jonathan’s Graduation Celebration!

Jonathan's graduation speech

A number of our friends ask Dawn and me about our children. What are they going to do, since you are moving? Will they go with you? These are some of the questions that we are asked. I thought I’d take some time to address those questions. In this particular post I will highlight our son, Jonathan. We just celebrated Jonathan’s graduation from high school on Friday, May 20. It was a great celebration. Dawn’s parents and my dad were able to come out for the graduation. I had the privilege of being the master of ceremonies for the event.

Now the question is what is Jonathan going to do now that he’s finished high school? This is something that we are praying about. We are trying to decide with Jonathan whether he should stay in Colorado and go to Pikes Peak Community College, or whether he should move with us to California. He has applied to some universities in California, but so far the cost is just too high. He has a strong interest in Biola, but we haven’t been able to come up with a suitable financial package. We are looking into some of the State schools, but since we don’t have residence in California it makes it much more expensive. These are some of the issues we are thinking through and praying about. We would appreciate you joining us in prayer for this need.

Jonathan, David & Hannah with Grandpa Diaso

Jonathan is interested in studying to become a physical therapist. We want God’s best for him, but we are not sure what that is at this point, so we need wisdom. I will write more about David and Hannah in a future post. David is interested in studying to serve in ministry, possibly missions and youth work. He is planning on going to San Diego Christian College starting this Fall. Hannah is still in high school, so we are trying to figure out what the best option is for her – homeschool, charter school, public school? These are all major decisions that we are praying through with our children.

Thanks for joining us in prayer!

In His Grip, Dave
