God’s Faithfulness on the Big Island
Where can simple acts of kindness become miracles in the lives of children and families? On the Big Island, the answer is unfolding before our eyes. Through the ministry of Hannah’s Toys of Hope, school supplies, toys, and backpacks are reaching families just when they need them most. Over the past weeks, some of our leaders, Yaima, Yarelis, Sara and Dunesky have shared powerful testimonies from families touched by these blessings. God’s faithfulness has been evident as prayers are answered, communities are strengthened, and hope is restored. From school supplies arriving just in time to the birth of new house churches, these stories remind us that God sees, cares, and provides, often in the most unexpected ways.
God Provides at Just the Right Time
Yeinelis, a mother of two, shared how the Lord answered her daughter’s prayer. The school year had already begun, but she still couldn’t afford backpacks. Her children were carrying their books in their hands. That same day, as they drove through the city, her daughter, Yelenis asked for a pair of school stockings. Yeinelis gently replied, “Ask God to give them to you.”
That very same day, the Lord answered. They received backpacks, shoes, and socks, everything that Yelenis had asked God for. With childlike faith, she exclaimed with joy: “The help came!” In the video below, she is saying thank you and thanking God for providing just in time..
It is so moving to see how the Lord provides at just the right time. The needs on the Big Island are overwhelming, yet again and again God proves His faithfulness through these blessings.
A New Church is Born
Pastor Dunesky also shared exciting news: he has started a new church. They’re currently gathering in the living room of his house and sometimes worshiping out on the patio. Already, 14 people have come to Christ, and 9 of them have been baptized! Even more encouraging, these new believers are boldly sharing their faith with friends, who in turn are also coming to Christ.
From this one small beginning, five new house churches have already been planted!
To help strengthen these gatherings, we’ve been sending aid to provide meals for the congregation after church services. Pastor Dunesky told us that they often wake up very early to prepare, since electricity is so limited. These simple meals, made possible by your generosity, have been vital in building community and opening doors for the gospel.
