Since I am living out of boxes, and without internet its slowed down my communication to the outside world in a major way.
Each day we are making progress towards getting our house set up. I still feel we are trying to bring order out of the present chaos we are living in.
One of my friends reminded me this past week, “there will be plenty of ministry for you when you get all set up.” I appreciated his encouragement as it reminded me that, “yes, the world is not dependent on me and that God can manage without me.” I need to be continually reminded of God’s grace, and the fact that this is his work, not mine.
This reminds me of God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11-12 (ESV),
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
“Thank you, Lord, for the journey you have us on. Thank you that things are done in your timing, and that you have a good plan for me, those I minister with and those I serve.”
I’m still chomping at the bit to get everything in its place so Dawn and I can shift our focus more and more to the ministry needs at hand. At the same time I rest in God’s good plan.

A really precious reminder for all of us who want to get at it, but really have to wait for God to help us get set up. 🙂 God bless you muchly!

Don’t we own a lot of stuff? (We’ve lived in our house for 28 years. Whew!) Just think how far you’ve gotten. Even the unpkging. is for the Lord. Soon it will be all put and away and you’re be on your way.

We’ve been in our house 27 of our 28 years (and four people) and have the same problem–lots of stuff. While much of it is stuff we like and want, it does have a weighing-down effect as we look at moving, even if moved professionally, which most of it will have to be. It’s so difficult for me to get rid of things as well. 🙂

yes – probably too much stuff, and we get sentimental about some of it, and don’t want to let it go.
We just have to take it day by day.

You have my sympathies! But as you say Jeremiah 29:11 says it all.
