Preparing Leaders to Coach
On Friday two good friends of mine, Gary Watanabe and Jim DeWitt with Mission to the World (MTW) arrived in preparation for our coaching training for pastors and leaders. The training will be held on Monday and Tuesday, and we expect about 30 to attend.
Gary flew in all the way from Tokyo, Japan. He’s been coaching me, giving me suggestions about how to multiply coaches for leaders. We first began this discussion about two years ago.
I remember telling Gary about the growing number of church planters we were working with on the border with Lo Mejor del Trigo and National Presbyterian Church of Mexico. As Gary listened he said you can’t coach all those guys by yourself, you need a way to multiply coaches as the churches multiply. That’s where the dream began.
Celebrating the Advance!
It’s thrilling after two years of work and preparation that we are holding this training. In some ways we still just at the beginning, but it’s a good beginning. We still have much to learn, but the Lord is guiding and leading us. God has given us some great people to work with.
This is the second of two huge accomplishments for this year. The first was holding our first assessment center for church planting candidates in Tijuana.
Pray With Us!
We continue to pray and ask the Lord to build a strong and healthy church. To build a network of churches.
Join us in prayer as we prepare for the coaching training, and for the actual training that will take place on Monday, December 7 and Tuesday, December 8. We often get attacks when we hold events like this. Pray for the Lord’s protection for our family, for this working with us and for our cars and things important and necessary to do the training.
Thanks so much for standing with us in prayer!
In His Grip, Dave

Training is so important and it is one arm of the church that is so sadly lacking…it is good to see this
