A Joy Beyond Words
One of the greatest joys we experience as we minister to our friends on the Big Island is seeing the response from the individuals and church leaders who are blessed by toys, shoes, and school supplies from Hannah’s Toys of Hope.
Recently, Pastor Obed shared a powerful testimony. He said he had no words to describe the feeling of watching children receive a toy. He remembered his own childhood, when his parents, with very little money, always had to spend it on food and shoes, leaving no room for toys. Seeing these children receive gifts was like a dream come true, a blessing not only for the children but for entire families.
Stories of Gratitude
Our ministry continues to touch lives in profound ways. One little girl from Araucana received a pair of shoes we had provided; she is the daughter of the pastors there, and the joy on her face was priceless. Her parents were deeply grateful for this blessing.
Another heartwarming story comes from Miguel’s grandmother, who lovingly took on the responsibility of raising him and another little girl who also received new shoes. The Pastor’s wife shared that she was so moved by the gift that she cried when she saw the blessing Hannah’s ministry had sent. These moments remind us how even small acts of love can have a powerful impact.
Deliverance and Freedom
Hannah’s Toys of Hope also encounters the spiritual and emotional battles many children face. One mother shared her testimony of deliverance: when she came to Christ, she left a relationship rooted in witchcraft. She endured a difficult year of spiritual struggle, including demonic manifestations, but God Himself brought her out. She said, “The precious blood of Christ, shed on the cross, brought total deliverance to my life.” Stories like hers remind us that God’s power brings healing and freedom in every area of life.
A Ministry of Restoration
Sara, a wife of one of the pastors we partner with, shares, “The number of children in our church continues to grow, and with growth comes the responsibility to meet their emotional and spiritual needs. Our church has 14 children, 11 of whom actively attend Sunday School.” Right now, Sara is working with 6 children who are dealing with trauma.
Many of the children we serve come from very difficult situations:
- One girl lives with her mother and stepfather, who physically and verbally mistreat her and neglect her basic needs.
- Another girl is afraid of her mother because her mind has been affected by multiple sclerosis, and she sleeps most nights at her aunt’s house.
- Three sisters witnessed their father beating their mother before he left for the United States. Their mother often hits them, makes them do hard work, and neglects their care. Many times, she leaves them home alone to handle to fend for themselves.
- One of these girls lives with her mother and grandmother, who are both involved in prostitution.
Despite these heartbreaking circumstances, the light of God’s love shines brightly. Through simple gifts like toys, shoes, emotional support, and the power of the gospel, children are experiencing hope, joy, and the knowledge that they are deeply loved by God.
Hannah’s Toys of Hope is more than just toys; it is a ministry of restoration, encouragement, and spiritual care. Thank you for partnering with us to bring joy, healing, and the message of God’s love to children who need it most.
